Grand Canyon snapshots

Nice Shadows at the Grand Canyon

Today was my first day waking up at the Canyon. Still on Boston time, I woke up bright and early, watched the sun hit the canyon from my balcony, then set off to buy some groceries. These photos were taken on my way to the grocery store - the first 1/2 mile of the walk is along the rim of the canyon.

York Beach Drawings, 2011

Here are some images of drawings I made this summer at my studio in Somerville.

Both are 90" x 55" and represent a collective landscape with imagery pulled from Phil's Hill, The Oxbow, Amherst, MA, and Wakefield, MA.

Finally I've got some images of the work I made in the spring.

One month to go

Then I am off to Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks!
My kickstarter project has been fully funded! Thank you so much to all who pledged and/or helped spread the word. So far I have purchased a fine pair of hiking boots (I tried on so many pairs that I got blisters on my fingers!), and ordered all of my paints, brushes, and a light weight easel!
I have also made an appointment to get photos taken of my recent work, I'll post pics soon!

Is it January yet?

Looking at these Georgia O'Keeffe drawings makes me very eager to go out west!
